Field Notes April 17, 2026

field notes Apr 17, 2026

A month ago I painted my front door a dark teal green after years of thinking about it. My 2 giant flowering almond shrubs are blooming right in front of it and I love how the pink looks with the green door. Even though those flowers will fade soon, I have pink 'Sarah Bernhardt' peonies to look forward to next, then 'Jude the Obscure' roses and I know I'm going to love how those will look with my front door too! It makes me smile every time I drive down our lane and smiling always makes life more beautiful. What beautiful things did you notice this week?

Field Notes

I only need 9 more book orders to get to 100 orders of my book on Amazon!

A cute new muffin tin.

Spring Flowers that are better than tulips.

I'm trying out 2 new worm castings. Affiliate link and affiliate link. I will let you know how it goes.

I use these semi-homemade cake recipes all the time. Especially when I don't have a lot of time. They turn out so good every time. I often put them in a regular cake pan instead of a bundt cake and just adjust the baking time. Make your own frosting. It's a lifesaver.

I love planting seeds directly in the ground instead of starting them early. Here is my guide that will help you know what to plant and when. It's only $7 and you can start planting flowers this weekend!

May you notice the beauty of your everyday life this weekend!
