Field Notes: January 23, 2026
Jan 23, 2026
This week I feel like everything is finally put away from Christmas. There always seems to be a few things that don't get put away. I finally got everything dusted and cleaned and looked around and it felt a little empty in my house. So, I bought 3 new house plants. 2 were from Costco (They were only $15, so check your local warehouse), and one was from the cutest local plant shop. And my waxed amaryllis started blooming again this week. My husband also patched all the holes and dings and dents in our walls. This January has felt like such a good reset. It's making it feel like we are starting out the year in a beautiful and prepared way. What do you do to set your year up right? I guess we buy houseplants and patch walls and it feels beautiful and just right to me this week. What beautiful things have you noticed lately?

I think everyone should plant Zinnias. Here's my free zinnia growing guide.
I made this bread for dinner this week and my family said it was the best sourdough they've ever had. (It's not sourdough, just a look alike)
I started a blog. Here is my first post!
I want to spruce up my mudroom and laundry room this winter. I've been looking at lots of wallpaper and I think this is so cute!
I am really excited about these new sunflowers. These were my favorite sunflowers last year.
May you notice the beauty of your everyday life this weekend.
